Sorry, couldn't help it, but in this case it's actually true. I wouldn't be surprised by "reputable" SEO agencies using them, but to discuss it openly seems pretty crazy these days. 

It does also raise the question of what a paid link is exactly though - I know this has been discussed many times before, but if a blogger receives a gift then links to the gifter surely there is a conflict of ethics, even if the gift is declared. Just look at all those links Berocca got from those relief packs they gave out...
