One of the best ways to promote your blog is to get links into it. I’m sure you know the importance of getting links for anything on the internet so I won’t bore you with it all again. Just now I am doing tests to a number of blogs in ways of getting links. I have split these into three categories:
Blog Directories
In essence you apply for a link and get an inclusion for
- Free
- A cost
- Reciprocal Links. Examples :
Blog roll Links
Where you get included within the blog roll of another blog. These can be:
- Reciprocal
- One Way
Natural Links from Content
As usual by providing good content you should get good links – at least thats the theory
Will post in a few weeks with the result of this experiment.

It’s nice your idea:
I think it’s easier to post in these services present on this page:

Great information. How long does it normally take to get people linking to your content?
I have been submitting to free directories but not adding reciprical links. How do you add reciprial links?

Free directories will only do part of the job. Reciprocal links can be of value where they give you something extra: such as keyword power, or co-citation benefit. Will do a post over at http://www.imjuk.com later this week on link types and link variables in response to this comment.
Also, don’t forget to submit your content to social media websites like digg.com!
